Change or Sharpen the Blades When:

  1. After 20–25 hours of mowing – Sharpen the blades if you’re mowing frequently (weekly or more). This is especially important for Bad Boy’s zero-turn mowers, which are often used over large areas.

  2. Once or twice per mowing season – Replace the blades at least once a year, or twice per season if you’re mowing in tough conditions (thick grass, sandy soil, etc.).

  3. Visible signs of wear or damage – Cracks, bends, chips, or excessive thinning mean it’s time to replace, not just sharpen.

  4. Uneven or frayed grass tips – Bad Boy mowers are designed to deliver a clean, even cut. Torn grass indicates dull blades.

  5. After hitting hard objects – Striking rocks, roots, or debris can cause immediate blade damage.

Pro Tip:

Bad Boy recommends using OEM (original equipment manufacturer) blades to maintain cutting quality and deck safety. Generic blades may not match the mower’s high-performance design.
